The Renowned Ski-Resort at Courchevel – a Unique Experience
Experience Courchevel, the world’s biggest skiing area - The 3 Valleys - spread across four different villages, each at a different altitude and each with something different to offer.
Courchevel 1300, Courchevel 1550, Courchevel 1650 and Courchevel 1850
Did you know?
Originally, Courchevel was planned during World War II, beginning with a study in the year 1942 by the Vichy regime and Laurent Chappis, who led the development of the resort in the immediate years after the war. The building of Courchevel 1850 was an innovative idea as it was the first ever resort in the country to be built from scratch, rather than around a village that already existed.
Courchevel’s reputation is not only based on its vast ski area and all you can do there (sledging, rackets, cross country, off-piste skiing for audacious skiers and night skiing) but also because it is a popular destination for Hollywood stars amongst others. But Courchevel’s heart remains in the immense variety of other activities that can be discovered after having taken full advantage of the slopes under the sun in each of its four different villages.
What to do?
Courchevel does not lend itself easily to boredom! You can fill your days and nights choosing from a variety of magical activities (up to 28 different possibilities) to please all tastes and preferences. Choose from a variety of events, attend one of the many exhibitions on offer and check out the many other forms of entertainment being organised. It goes without saying that Courcheval offers a vast choice of shops (including the most well known luxury brands), “salons de thé”, family-friendly or fine-dining restaurants, altitude restaurants, health spas, bars, piano bars, and night clubs, to name but a few possibilities.
